Lukas Cornel Eberle talks about his language stay in Vancouver!

Lukas Cornel Eberle from Switzerland would like to share about how much he loved studying English in Vancouver with EC! “How does one know that s/he had the perfect language stay? Exactly, when one doesn’t regret anything. How happy I am to say that my language stay was perfect. Hi, my name is Lukas and I’m a Swiss guy. I’d been in Vancouver for 5 ½ months and it was the best time of my life. In the end, it was hard to say goodbye and I nearly didn’t want to leave. Here are some reasons why: – I am extremely excited about the school I have chosen: EC. I met so many great people – students, teachers and staff – all of them were so nice and it was a lot of fun with them. Even now, after I have left Vancouver, I’m still messaging with some friends I made in EC. – In my last two months, I decided to be a student ambassador. I really like to organize and lead activities for students and I also like to speak and meet new people. It’s unbelievable how many new people I have met through my student ambassador work. Every Monday, student ambassadors will welcome the new students in EC and therefore I could get in touch with so many students. It was just great. The activities we plan were great as well. When we did something, we had a lot of fun. My advice to you is to join the activities, because they will help you making new friends and to improve your English. And of course, you will have fun! – The nature that surrounds Vancouver is incredible. My friends and I went hiking many times in Lynn Canyon Park, Deep Cove or Grouse Mountain. And every hike was a unique … Read more

Hyein Kim (Hailey) from Korea shares her Student Ambassador experience

Hyein Kim (Hailey), one of our student ambassadors from Korea, was hosting the Golden Bell quiz game show last week and share her experience. “Golden Bell” is a famous Korean quiz show. At first, when the ambassadors discussed the next activities, Edward said to us; “Let’s play Golden Bell”. In my case, I knew about the game but the other ambassadors had no idea. So Edward was trying to explain the game, but it wasn’t easy. I first thought it’s impossible, because the game is only famous in Korea. However, all the ambassadors were trying to understand the game. Two weeks later, everything became real when we remade the rules and prepared the questions. The most interesting thing was when we made the questions about our own country. When I checked our ambassadors Facebook page, there were many kind of questions about their countries posted. Also, I could learn something new by reading the questions. Finally when the day of the game came, a miracle happened. Only four students signed up for the Golden Bell game, so every student ambassador tried to bring two friends. When we finally went to the room, there were so many students. Some students even had to look from outside the classroom. During the game, people argued with each other and it was very hot inside. After all, it was a quite good competition between the four teams. Even though, three teams lost and only one won, everyone enjoyed the game and learned something new about other countries and that is what mattered. What a wonderful situation! So I also learned not to be afraid of challenging something. We can do whatever we want. This was the best time during my time as an ambassador so far. -Hailey ====== Do you want to study English in Canada? EC offers … Read more

Yousin Hong (Edward) from Korea shares his Student Ambassador experience!

Yousin Hong (Edward), one of our student ambassadors from Korea, was hosting the Golden Bell quiz game show last week and share his experience. It was my first time in Vancouver to lead a new game. At first, I thought it would be difficult and boring, when I suggested the plan to our student ambassadors. They respected my plan though and I was very impressed. After the meeting, I started to prepare how to make the game interesting. Two weeks later, I brought my notes that I had written before, but it was so difficult to explain the rules and to make the other ambassadors understand them in English. All friends helped me a lot. It made it easier for me to complete the preparation. On the final day of the activity, we checked everything again. But only four people signed up for the activity, so I thought that the game was over and we would have to cancel the plan at that time. However, something crazy happened; all ambassadors brought their friends and this made me happy. Through this experience, I could learn about the difficulty of leadership and the value of friendship with other ambassadors. It was a very nice opportunity to improve my English. Thank you to everyone! -Edward   ====== Do you want to study English in Canada? EC offers various English Courses, including IELTS in Canada.

Fumiko Maruyama: “I totally recommend EC to my friends…”

Fumiko Maruyama, who is one of our student ambassadors, shares her EC experience while studying English in Vancouver, Canada. While I was looking for a language school, I focused on the distance between students and teachers, the strictness of speaking English only and whether there are some academic courses or not. Moreover, the balance of nationalities to practice listening to different pronunciations. All the teachers at EC who I have met so far are truly sympathetic. They always cheer us up and try to keep our motivation up to study English. The best memorable experience at EC will be the many opportunities to make friends and the precious time with them. Also, managing to deal with difficult content gave me confidence in improving my English. I totally recommend EC to friends because of its excellent environment for studying. Speaking your own language is prohibited and it has a friendly and warm atmosphere. Furthermore, since all the students are friendly and cheerful, you will be impacted positively by them. ====== Are you interested in studying in an English school in Vancouver?
