  Last Sunday, a group of EC Miami English center students watched the Miami Dolphins vs the Houston Texans game. The home game was located at Sun Life Stadium, and some of the students partake in an all-American tailgating experience. The students witnessed a group of cancer survivors singers singing the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ song to start the game. It was exciting to watch the Miami Dolphins game, as we scored 5 touchdowns during the first 2nd half of the game. The excitement of gaining yards and getting touchdowns were not as exciting as watching our students braving through the rain to watch their first football game, as well as interacting with the locals to teach them about the game. This experience is extremely unique and more amazing games to come in the future.

  Meet Otavio Dantas Lima De Castro from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil! He chose to study English in the USA because he wanted to be surrounded by amazing sceneries, wonderful weather, and English speaking individuals who could improve his communication skills in English. As he reminisce his last few weeks in Miami, he talks about his incredibly unique experience as an EC Miami student, a Student Ambassador for EC Miami, and a tourist from Brazil! Otavio was one of the many students who watched the Miami Heat Game live at the American Airline Arena. What made this experience unique to him was he was given the opportunity to be on the Miami Heat Basketball Court after the game and shoot some hoops! Let’s read more about his wonderful time with EC Miami It’s almost time for me to go back home. I have to say that I chose EC Miami because of this wonderful city called Miami Beach. As you know, the stunning beaches, the great weather and touristic attractions were a must for me. So far, my English has become so much more fluent that I feel so comfortable with the language and have really no problems in expressing myself. It feels like the English language is in my blood as it comes out so naturally now. I have to be really thankful for the teachers, the lessons, and the great knowledge that has been given to me. EC Miami English Center‘s Student of the Month, Sungbin Jo, wrote his reasoning behind his decision to learn English with EC Miami. He explained the different cultural dynamic in Miami, as well as the amazing tropical weather. He talked about his excitement studying in Miami. Cary Sands, an Elementary teacher, chose Sungbin Jo as Student of the Month for his amazing sense of humor. Being new to EC Miami himself, he wanted to pick a student that expresses EC Miami’s unique environment. Sungbin Jo is friendly, and he has made friends from different countries with different English level. Before arriving to Miami, I thought Miami’s weather was amazing and there were a lot of cultural dynamic. It is exactly how I imagined my time at EC Miami would be! I absolutely enjoyed my life in Miami. The people here are friendly, and AWESOME! At first I thought I would stay here for six months, but I would love to stay here longer. Recently, a group of EC Miami Language Center students participated in a friendly game of laser tag. This activity was led by Mosab Khayat, an EC Miami student ambassador. He talks about his new experience playing laser tag with his friends. Rahel Meyer also talks about her experience playing laser tag for the first time! What is laser tag? Laser tag is a team activity where player attempts to score points by tagging targets, typically with a hand-held infrared-emitting targeting device. Let’s read about the student’s experience at Laserland & Adventure!   Lasertag was FUN! It was amazing that we could enjoy the game together as a huge group. You got the meet new students whom you are not usually with! Rahel Meyer Switzerland CAE Examination Preparation Class I had a blast with everyone else! It was also my first time leading an activity as a Student Ambassador. It was a new experience for me, but I definitely enjoyed leading the activity! The most rewarding part of leading an activity was everyone enjoyed the vibes of being in a group. After the game, we went to the Cheesecake Factory restaurant for dinner, which was the icing on the cake for the PERFECT DAY! EC Miami Language Center says ‘See You Later’ to Joel Krikorian

  EC Miami Language Center had to say their ‘see you later’ to Joel Krikorian on September 30. His presence are missed by the students and the staffs, as he brings us joy her at EC Miami. Joel is kind, extremely helpful, and most importantly a good friend to the students and his peers.   Below is Joel’s testimonial about his 3 month contract with EC Miami. He talks about his experiences at EC Miami and his recommendations as to what YOU should do in Miami. Read about For a three-month contracted period over the summer, I had the pleasure of working at EC Miami as the student services coordinator. As such I got to talk to and spend a lot of time with our fantastic students from all around the world. This enabled me to learn a lot about their cultures and experiences learning English and living in the United States as students. Moreover, I got to know the amazing staff at EC, both the teachers and administrators. We had a lot of talks, laughs, and learning moments. What are my recommendations for English language learners at EC Miami? First, take advantage of the free classes offered every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday! You will maximize your learning if you do. During your free time, be sure to cross the bridge into Miami. Grab a Starbucks coffee at the Intercontinental Hotel and walk down the River Walk. Then head north to Bayfront Park, Bayside Marketplace, and Museum Park to enjoy the gorgeous views of Biscayne Bay. Use the free Metromover to get around and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the city. As we are counting down the days for All Hallows Eve, we provide educational and fun activities for students.   Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, EC Miami encourage students to sign up as it will help with their English Course and their Health; FREE ENGLISH CLINICS AND FREE BOOT CAMP CLASS AT CRUNCH GYM. In addition to the FREE educational classes, we have fun, social activities for students to create amazing memory before returning to their home country.
