I have 29 years old and I am a Nutritionist. I have been here since June and I will stay here for more 3 months. Moreover, EC is on their list of schools around here. The reason I want to learn English is that I need it for work, because you can use it all over the world. I also think that being in the US for the first time will be a great experience. What do you like most about EC teachers? They are so helpful, funny and nice. What will be your most unforgettable memory of EC? I made a lot of friends and I hope to go on a few school trips like San Francisco or Las Vegas. Would you recommend EC to a friend? Why? Absolutely yes, because the location is near to the pier and the beach, which is perfect. In addition, the teacher and organizers really want you to have a good time.
EC English offers a unique Student Ambassador program that offers students a chance to lead activities, volunteer in an international office, and gain international work experience. Meet one of EC Los Angeles’ newest members…. Hi, I am Ahmad from Saudi Arabia, I graduated from university with a major in biochemistry, and I am studying MD at medical school in Saudi Arabia. I want to be a plastic surgeon. I came to ECLA, because I want improve my English language to help me with my MD studying. I have been studying at ECLA for 3 months. It has been a nice and a fantastic time. I started in Intermediate level, and I moved up to Upper Intermediate level. Everything in EC School is good; you will find a good environment to learn English and have fun. There are free classes for specific skills that you can use to improve your language on skills that you need. You will find a lot of activities that you can do to discover Santa Monica with students and teachers. Teachers don’t use a traditional style. They teach by using fun games and competitions, and motivate students to do the best. They help me very much to succeed in my goal. Do you want to be student ambassador? On August 25th, 2015, EC Los Angeles students participated in a special Surfing Activity at Venice Beach with Surf LA! For two hours, students had the chance to practice English with native speakers while learning how catch some waves in the clear, warm Southern California ocean. EC LA’s very own intern, Minkuk Park and EC Malta’s admissions executive, Ayako Suzuki chaperoned the event and had a lot to say about it. Minkuk: “The instructors were really kind and it was AWESOME!” Ayako: “I never surfed before, but it was a good opportunity for me to start. I wouldn’t have tried on my own. “It was very fun” Located in Santa Monica, EC Los Angeles is the perfect place to learn English while enjoying endless activities and events. In addition to surfing, students can listen to free concerts on the pier, enjoy food truck festivals, free movies, hiking in the Santa Monica mountains, and so much more!
Aloha! On Saturday, September 19th, EC Los Angeles held its first annual Summer Beach Luau! From 12 to 4PM, students and staff soaked up met at Venice beach. Resident Coordinator and Battle DJ, Cyril, pumped up the Hawaiian tunes. Students lounged around and hula hooped. Around 1PM, the delicious Hawaiian food arrived – guests could enjoy Hawaiian BBQ chicken, Beef Short Ribs, Vegetarian Chow Fun, Fried Rice, Steamed Vegetables and Spam Musubi – there was something for everyone! After lunch, party-goers took a dip in the unusually warm and colorful Pacific Ocean. We also held a grand Limbo contest! One student even brought his guitar and serenaded the party with beautiful music! In addition to learning English, EC Los Angeles offers a diverse activities calendar that changes every month! Like our many other activities, the ECLA Beach Luau offered an opportunity for students in different levels and classes to meet and make friends with each other.
