As well as our short term course for Cambridge English we also offer our Academic Year Programme. This is for longer term students wanting to study more than 26 weeks. Today these students attended a Lecture by one of our teachers Vivien on London. London is of course a very famous English city home to The Queen, the Prime minister and a host of celebrities from musicians to football players, politicians to TV presenters. London is also the Financial Capital of the World with control over some of the Worlds biggest stock markets. Today Vivien gave a lecture on lots of parts of London such as the Queen and Buckingham Palace, giving our students an insight into this world famous monument. Our long term students then get some writing practice, writing about this famous city with all of their marks going towards their EC Diploma that they receive at the end of their course! Sergio has been studying Cambridge English at Upper Intermediate for the last few weeks. Here he tells us a little about his experience. I have been almost 3 weeks in EC Cambridge and I will never forget this life experience. First of all, my English has improved a lot. The teachers are lovely and prepared properly and also the EC staff is very friendly with all the students. The school is beautiful and well equipped with a lot of computers and a library to study. Moreover I really enjoyed the extra school activities like the trip to Bath, Salisbury, Stonehenge etc. Also Cambridge is a lovely city to live and enjoy the free time. There are plenty of places where you can chat with friends. You can also have the opportunity to join sport-activities like football, tennis, punting etc. To conclude I am thankful to all those lovely people who supported me through this journey and I strongly recommend EC School. I really miss all of you. It has been an honour. Check out our website If you want to find out more about studying English in Cambridge.
Giulia studied Cambridge IELTS at EC Cambridge. Here she talks a little about her experience. When I arrived here last January I had absolutely no idea about what It would be like to live in another country, for such a long period of time. In those six months I learnt a lot, not only about English, but about life in general and especially about myself. I decided to take a gap year in order to improve my English and it was the best choice ever. Thanks to that, I had the opportunity to meet people from different cultural backgrounds; now I have friends all over the world. I might not see them anymore, but I am not worried about that, as I know that a part of them will always be with me. I will never forget all those great moments that we had together. Thanks everybody Giulia

Our Young Learners took a break from there English classes to have a go at our egg drop activity! The idea is to build a device (a transporter) that will allow your egg to fly. The Rules 1. You only have a set amount of materials: two sheets of A4 paper, one full newspaper sheet, one A4 coloured card sheet and one sheet of tissue paper. 2. You can use as much glue as you like, but you will only be given a set amount of string and tape. 3. There are only 4 pairs of scissors so you are going to have to share. Be nice to each other! 4. Give a name to your transporter, and make sure it is visible on the device. 5. You only have one hour to build your transporter. We will then walk together to Parker’s Piece to test our transporters. The Winners Your egg should end the challenge intact. The team whose egg remains whole and flies the furthest wins the challenge! This is a great activity as it promotes teambuilding and of course requires the students to communicate in English with their teams.
